Replacement of fossil fuels in primary metallurgical production
ZM SERVIS MORAVIA, s.r.o., in cooperation with the Faculty of Mining and
Geology and the Center for Energy and Environmental Technologies at VŠB – TU Ostrava, has developed
and experimentally verified a reducing agent based on coal sludge and waste polymers that cannot be
recycled using conventional methods.
The importance of the project
The project will significantly reduce Třinecké železárny's dependence
on fossil-based metallurgical coke and contribute to the transformation of non-recyclable waste into
a chemical substance, an oxidation-reduction agent.
